Please pardon my British, but there is a lot to be said for being scared shitless.
These experiences that find us quietly contemplating our quite temporary existence and quickly summarizing inside our hearts and minds what is most important to us in such instances of near death or otherwise near catastrophic collisions with the notion that, yes, indeed, this stuff, these moments, are real and also finite and vulnerable - are necessary.
We are all guilty of not thinking about this enough.
Still, I am consistently baffled how so many business leaders operate their businesses under the "it won't happen to us" mentality. How can so many smart people take such huge risks by putting everything they've built in jeopardy by not investing a fraction of a fraction of their revenue to build a thoughtful resiliency strategy?
It's true that many people think cyber insurance is enough. What they don't know they don't know can really hurt them, though, especially when something happens that disrupts their business.
What is more important than losing revenue when business gets disrupted? If you don't have a plan when something happens - well - your clients will never trust you again.
When your kids ride off on their bicycles, scooters or skateboards, or when your husband goes off climbing mountains or skiing, when your wife rides off on her motorcycle, do you want to make sure they are taking every precaution to be successful and safe?
Please don't wait for something to happen to make you think about building a plan to protect your business. Our businesses are much like the ones we love, important parts of what powers our livelihood.
Why would we ever, even for a moment, risk leaving any of them unprotected?
waxieus is committed to helping you protect what you've built.
